What are some basic rules of rugby?

There are really only two rules fundamental to the flow of the game. {1} Players must play offense from behind the ball carrier, which means they can't interfer wth potential tacklers. {2} Players off their feet can't handle the ball. Those two rules set the tone. The rest are basically in place for special situations and/or to allow the first two to function properly.

1. You can only pass the ball backwards. 2. You can only tackle the player who has the ball. 3. You can't tackle the neck or above. 4. You must stay on your feet t the breakdown, and come in through your side. 5. The ball must be placed with downwards force over the tryline, you can't just run over the line like in American Football. 6. Only the captain of each team may talk to the referee unless the referee says otherwise. That's fairly straight forward I think, hope it helps.
