The fact of the matter is that the entire culture has to change As things stand now there is so much pressure on the players and the coaching staff to encourage a player to "tough it out" or "show character". Play right now; worry about dementia later. You need doctors on the field who aren't answerable to either the players or the clubs, and willing to use their authority to remove a player from the game when there is the slightest question of whether or not they are concussed. However, I haven't the slightest idea of how to give them that authority and motivate them to use it. No easy answers.
