The 46-40 loss was against South Africa on 19 August 2000. Their biggest losing margin (21 points) was the defeat by Australia on 28 August 1999 by 28-7.
46-40 loss to the Boks in 2000. I think the ABs have only ever conceded 40 points in a test match on 2 other occassions -- I stand to be corrected on this. Also they are the only top -tier rugby team to never concede 50 points in a test. btw - the biggest non-test loss for the ABs was against Sydney in 1992 -- 40-18. The ABs were shocking that day.
