I bought a rugby ball online with a patented valve. When I inflated it, the little rubber inflation hole was sticking right out of the ball and it is very annoying. Is it supposed to stick out? No, it certainly shouldn't be protruding. If there's no way of pushing it back inside the skin of the ball then I would assume the valve is faulty.

It is a violation (and dangerous) to have any valve sticking out of the ball. It is defective. Take it back.
