Why does american rugby(not national team) look like it's being played wrong?

I'm happy that Rugby is being played in U.S. and i would like to see grow more but american rugby looks so sloppy.I don't know maybe it's just me.

It's not just you. I played rugby in high school a couple of years ago for 4 years. Almost all of us learned to play this game in high school. Unlike other high school sports, rugby is considered a club like chess or bowling and has very little resources (usually entirely funded by the club itself). Most American teams practice only 2 times a week and play on Sunday's for 2 months of the year. By the next year, most players lose coordination and strategy needed for rugby and pretty much start all over. I think the strategy speaks for itself.

"Why does american rugby(not national team) look like it's being played wrong?" ----- I didn't even realize we had professional rugby teams in the US prior to reading your question. It's very popular at my university though. My best guess is that it's very rarely played below the university level (it's not played in elementary school or even high school in most parts of the US). For that reason, we're probably not very good at it. "but american rugby looks so sloppy.I don't know maybe it's just me." ----- It doubt very much that it's you; it's more likely us. Have you ever watched American soccer? It's just plain awful. There's also a stubborn tendency among Americans to prefer to do things our own way (I'm not saying this is good or bad). Those are my best guesses.

what lever are you watching? many d I and d II teams are quite good, as are major colleges. i admit d III and d IV can look sloppy.
