Comparing with soccer or gridiron (american football), Rugby is always suffering with poor attendances at Club competitions, for example "Heineken cup" semi final had only 25.000 !, and the average in "Super Rugby" drops to 19.000 only, only few years ago the average was 25.000 How come other like AFL, NFL, MLB, CFL, & soccer doesn't have similar problems should we be worry.Comparing with soccer or gridiron (american football), Rugby is always suffering with poor attendances at Club competitions, for example "Heineken cup" semi final had only 25.000 !, and the average in "Super Rugby" drops to 19.000 only, only few years ago the average was 25.000 How come other like AFL, NFL, MLB, CFL, &soccer doesn't have similar problems should we be worry.

Ticket prices could be a factor, plus in NZ most Super rugby games are at night with a 7.30pm kick off. It's cold and wet and who wants to sit watching a game where instead you can watch in a warm home on TV or in a bar

In America, gridiron is the number one winter sport with little opposition. It headlines both free to air and pay tv. Australia has four winter football codes all vying for support and televison. England has two winter codes, football and rugby with most money, televison and support going to football.
