Can I be a Pilot at the same time a Rugby Player?

Basically I'm getting into flight school and I want to play Rugby for my local club. Is it wise to join this physical sport yet maintain a good health to be an aviation pilot?

There's nothing preventing you from playing rugby during a career in aviation, the main issue will be the demands of the job. I've been flying long haul for over 3 years now &although I'm still a member of a cricket team, I only played 3 games during the last season. I tend to play more golf these days, it fits around the career perfectly. As a pilot you'll struggle to be available every Sunday at 11am, part of the job unfortunately.

Yeah you can. We had a dude who played for our club, but he passed away on his first flight, plane crash. Just watch yourself brother.

Concussions are quite common in rugby. If you get one, perhaps its best to give flying a miss to avoid anything. Maybe the flight authority bans you from flying too if you've had a certain amount of concussions too? I know some jobs are can be picky if you've even had a single concussion in the past five years as they count it as a "head injury".
