Do they see a lot of the ball etc..

If you like running, tackling and running at people! just make sure you are big enough...IMO the Ideal center is anywhere from 5''10 - 6''2 and about 90kg - 100kg (200lb - 220lb) i prefer center to wing, thats because i like being physical and i like to see the ball. If you want to be a good center you will need to develop your legs into tree trunks! big power legs, get those bad boys Pumping as you run into contact driving you forward and over the top of them. just remember center is a physical position. inside centers (number 12) need to be able to slot into first receiver and kick the ball up field if the fly half is nowhere around. inside center must haves = - Good crash ball/ good at running straight lines towards defenders. - good playmaking skills (you will need to learn the calls for set plays) - communication (you need to be able to pass on messages to the outside center - long and accurate punt - solid defence and big shoulders. Outside center must haves = - Speed! - good passing and catching skills - great fitness - decent size - good defence - ability to get over the advantage line - ability to read oppositions offensive plays - durability - communication - you will probably benifit from being good at supporting players at the rucks when they are tackled.
