What's the difference between soccer cleats and rugby cleats?

Rugby cleats and soccer cleats seam to look the same to me? I'm playing rugby for the first time and I wanna know if I can pull off wearing soccer cleats. Please help, thnx

Soccer cleats with molded plastic blades (but not the metal ones) are perfectly legal on a rugby pitch so long as they are in good condition. There can be no sharp edges or notches. Some positions -- particularly wingers -- even prefer them, especially when the pitch is hard and dry. Rugby-specific boots are intended more for the forward positions who have to do most of the rucking and all the scrumming. They are intended to provide more traction than soccer boots. As such, they have larger, deeper but more rounded studs. Rounded studs are necessary because getting stepped on (not always accidentally) is simply part of the game as players scramble around to play a grounded ball after a tackle. It is a matter of routine for rugby referees to do a "boot check" before each game (players kneel down in rows so that the studs can be inspected) to ensure that the boots are safe to use. You're just learning the game. Soccer boots with plastic blades are just fine for getting started.

Nothing at all my friend , nothing at all . Don't listen to these other dudes . They probably haven't even played rugby before haha . But all the teams I've played for , all of the backs and some of the forward all wear soccer cleat because they come in better colours .
