Nonsense. The upper kit of most high-level rugby clubs reflect a tradition which sometimes go back 150 years. American football jerseys are plain, unimaginative and uninspiring by way of comparison. With the exception of the colour, there's pretty much no difference between one team and another. And there are good reasons why rugby shorts are "short". Less tendancy to tear in the grind of the ruck and tackle. And longer shorts would interfere with the lifter's grip in a lineout. When you know absolutely nothing about a subject, it's generally best not to comment on it.
rugby teams uniform is like a soccer team from the 1930's also, rugby teams still dont have a name on the back...it hasnt changed much because no-one is really interested in rugby to be honest rugby shorts are similar to the shorts women wear in hooters soccer shorts are similar to NBA shorts
They wear ones that look like soccer ones because it is a simaler sport for both you only have one piece of equptment rugby mouthgard soccer shin pads if they wore football jersies they would not fit right because football jersies are shaped to fit over equptment not shoulders if you played eather sport you would know why u play both soccer at rec level rugby at high school varcity level and as for shorts they could wear longer ones mostly for guys on my team we wore spanks under the shorts then the shout but baggies shorts so but we are also a high school grade 9-12 varcity girls team who knows some of us could go pro as for the pro guys I wish they would wear longer shorts
