Moving rugby positions?

I started playing rugby as a lock and moved to 8 , as I got a bit quicker... I am contemplating a move to the backs and preferably 12/13 ... I am 18 , 98 kgs and 6'3 What would I need to know different from back row to move to the centre?I started playing rugby as a lock and moved to 8 , as I got a bit quicker... Backs in rugby union need to have a much better understanding of defensive positioning as you'll find yourself defending a significantly larger patch of grass than a forward does. It's quite easy to get away with being slightly out of position in the forwards as there are so many people condensed in together, but in the backs if you are too bunched or too spread there will be large gaps which speedier players will take advantage of. It all comes down to your lateral movement and acceleration. If you're capable of moving sideways as quickly as an attacker you can afford to stand in closer to your inside defender. Most forwards however struggle with a fast-moving outside back as they are often wrong-footed. Some things such as speed simply cannot be taught, but if you can keep up with those you are defending the awareness will come after you've been burnt a few times (unfortunately learning by failing is sometimes the only way).

Playing centre is all about lines. Your's and the opposition's.

Be good at passing off both hands

U just need to sprint fats run when u get the ball only head for the rucks if the forwards are not around and that's about it have fun as well I moved from playing wing or the centers to playing flank and I'm 15 55kgs and 5'2
