The England/France game is on and I have no idea what is happening. What are the basic rules of rugby, how do you score, and what is it with all these scrums?

The ball must always be thrown backwards, (passed) The scums determine the possession. They must only engage, or collide when the referee says, but they need to stay standing up, so when the front row fall down they;re not following the rules
